White River Light Station: White River Light Station can be found in Whitehall, weekend tours available but no lodging is provided. Tasks that the volunteers may work on include but are not limited to sharing historical information with visitors, keeping the grounds clean and lighthouse clean, handle money from tours, and have fun! Little Sable Point: Located in the Silver Lake State Park in Mears, keepers of Little Sable with live in a residence about 2 miles away from the lighthouse for one week tours. The keepers of the breakwater will have tasks such as collecting money from tours and gift shop sales, share history of the lighthouse with visitors, keep the lighthouse clean, keep gift shop stocked, keep an eye on visitors from not touching the light at the top of the lighthouse, and have fun! Ludington North Breakwater: Located at Sterns Park in Ludington, volunteers live in a residence provided inside Ludington State Park for one week tours. While volunteering, the keepers tasks include but are not limited to sharing Michigan maritime history and history of the lighthouse with visitors, working a gift shop, handling money for tours and gift shop sales, keeping gift shop stocked, play a historical video for the visitors, keep the grounds and lighthouse itself clean, and have fun! to educate our guests aboutMichigan’s maritime historyīig Sable Point: Located in Ludington State Park, volunteers live at the lighthouse for two week tours.to give people an opportunity to visit the lights and climb the towers.to preserve and restore the lighthouses under our care.The purposes of our volunteer keeper program are: Volunteer Lighthouse Keeper Opportunities!!
